Why Mrs. Mallard's ?

We pride ourselves on our quality ingredients, and think that people should be able to eat good tasting ice cream without feeling bad about eating it. Here's why you can be happy about eating our ice cream

Ingredients: For the base of all of our ice creams, there are only four ingredients. This includes raw A2 grass fed milk, raw grass fed A2 creme, corn free & soy free duck eggs, raw local honey.

Process: While making our ice cream we don't use any chemicals. We make sure to not over-pasteurize our product so that the enzymes, probiotics, and micro-nutrients are not stripped away.

Raw A2 Milk

  • Easier on the Stomach: Raw A2 milk lacks A1 beta-casein, which in other types of milk can lead to digestive problems like bloating and discomfort. A1 beta-casein breaks down during digestion to release BCM-7, a peptide that can cause inflammation and slow digestion. A2 milk avoids these issues, making it gentler on your stomach .

  • Rich in Healthy Fats: Milk from grass-fed cows, which is often A2 milk, contains more beneficial fats like omega-3 fatty acids and CLA (conjugated linoleic acid). These fats are good for reducing inflammation and promoting heart health. On the other hand, grain-fed cows produce milk with more omega-6 fatty acids, which can increase inflammation .

  • Natural Enzymes and Bacteria: Pasteurization kills harmful bacteria but also destroys beneficial enzymes and bacteria found in raw milk. These natural components of raw A2 milk might help improve gut health and boost the immune system, though raw milk must be handled carefully to avoid the risk of pathogens .

  • No BCM-7: Raw A2 milk does not produce BCM-7, a substance formed in A1 milk that has been linked to various health issues. By avoiding BCM-7, raw A2 milk is potentially safer and more comfortable for people to digest, especially those who have dairy sensitivities .

  • Better for Cows and the Environment: Cows producing raw A2 milk are typically grass-fed and live in better conditions. This not only improves the quality of the milk but also supports animal welfare and is better for the environment compared to the more industrialized farming methods used for many grain-fed cows .

  • Conclusion: Choosing raw A2 milk can offer digestive comfort, enhanced nutritional benefits, and support more humane farming practices, making it an appealing choice for many. However, it's important to ensure that it is sourced from a reputable provider to avoid health risks associated with raw milk consumption.

Corn free soy free Duck Eggs

  • Higher Nutrient Content: Per ounce of egg yolk, duck eggs have more vitamins and minerals than chicken eggs, including higher levels of vitamin B12, vitamin A, and iron, which contribute to better overall health.

  • Rich in Omega-3 Fatty Acids: The duck's we get eggs from are fed a varied diet that don't contain corn or soy, meaning that our duck eggs contain a more favorable omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acid ratio compared to that of normal chicken eggs.

  • Enhanced Creaminess and Flavor: The larger yolk and higher fat content in our duck eggs contribute to a richer, creamier texture in the ice cream.
